Music School Facilities
The Music School has three main teaching rooms, M1, M2 and M3, plus 9 individual tuition rooms and 4 composition rooms.
Performances are held in either the Christopher Fry Hall or the Howard Hall whereas our more informal concerts take place in M1.
M1 - Our main teaching room which has a, upright Yamaha piano. This is a large rehearsal space for the School Orchestra, the Concert and Dance Bands as well as several smaller ensembles. Regular Tea-Time Concerts also take place in M1 therefore providing a more informal setting for our younger musicians or for those rehearsing for public examinations.
M2 - The Music Technology suite. Ten Apple Macs are located here with all the latest composing, recording and editing software installed; including Reason, Logic and Sibellius.
M3 - Another general teaching room with superb acoustics and which also has access to an additional 4 composition rooms each with an electronic keyboard installed. This room has a Yamaha baby grand piano.
M4 to M12 - The individual tuition rooms. All rooms have upright pianos and the percussion room also has a permanent sound system installed.
M13 - Our sound-proof recording studio.
M14 - The master recording room with another Apple Mac and even more Music Technology equipment!
